According to the Recurrent Flooding Sub-Panel, over 400,000 Virginian households are in danger of increasingly high storm surges and sea-level rise is a serious threat to our homes and livelihoods. That being said, some regulations like those protecting the watershed from pollution and our working men and women from unnecessary harm are essential. Yet there are too many regulations that are ineffectively written as well as poorly and unevenly enforced, and this hurts our small businesses already struggling to make it in a vulnerable coronavirus economy.

If elected to the House, I will work to see that our environmental and workers’ safety is assured. I will also work to commission a study to find out how the Commonwealth can involve local business in the regulation process to make sure businesses are held to a standard appropriate for them and the industry they operate in.
